Railway access points
Magtel was the company responsible for installing the superstructure works at the new terminal introduced by the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras in the expansion of Algeciras Port.
The work, executed by the temporary joint venture “Accesos Isla Verde” (Dragados, Guinovart, Sato and FPS), consisted of the construction of the access point to Isla Verde Exterior for goods trains, as well as the construction of a railway terminal with a triple-rail yard measuring 750 metres, which is the length required to guarantee the competitiveness of services with any import and export merchandise entering or exiting Algeciras Port along the Algeciras – Bobadilla/Antequera railway line.
The investment by the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras in the track and railway accesses to the Isla Verde Exterior extension totalled 16.5 million euros.
