Magtel’s Infrastructure Division executed urban regeneration works in the San Francisco neighborhood of Palma del Río (Córdoba) in 2022 as part of the Edusi Program “Palma del Río… la ciudad que avanza.” This program is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Multiregional Operational Program of Spain 2014-2020.
The objectives are to enhance the value of Paseo Alfonso XIII and its surroundings, as well as to implement a series of facility improvements and modify the circulation within the neighborhood.
The project included repaving Alfonso XIII Street, installing a irrigation system in the central area with albero (a type of sand), and beautifying the landscaping at the southern end, which includes a glass kiosk. Additionally, the current fairground area will be paved and transformed into a large parking lot for the rest of the year.
Furthermore, to complete the set of actions carried out by Magtel, the central street of the neighborhood will be transformed into a “ciclocalle” (bike-friendly street), incorporating bio-healthy exercise machines.
