Modernisation of the Railway Line between Pablo de Olavide and Montecarmelo

The consortium formed by Magtel, Enyse and Sineox Rail is delivering the modernisation project for the tramway line connecting Pablo de Olavide University and Montecarmelo, in the municipality of Alcalá de Guadaíra. This line, currently out of service, forms part of the transport network of the Province of Seville, and its restoration is considered essential to improving sustainable mobility across the region.

The line will have an approximate length of 12.5 kilometres and will deliver a significant improvement in metropolitan mobility. The project’s main objective is to ensure efficient, safe and modern operation, thereby enhancing connectivity between Alcalá de Guadaíra, Pablo de Olavide University, and the wider Seville metropolitan transport network.

With a budget of €23.2 million, the project scope includes:

  • Installation and integration of tramway signalling systems.
  • Implementation of a Centralised Traffic Control (CTC) system.
  • Installation of Automatic Train Protection (ATP) systems.
  • Deployment of an Operations Support System (OSS).
  • Development of fixed and mobile communications systems.
  • Integration of railway safety systems.
  • Installation of Passenger Information Systems (PIS).
  • Implementation of ticketing systems.
  • Commissioning of a fully integrated Centralised Control Centre, connected to the Seville Metro network.

The works have been under construction since October 2024, with completion scheduled for the first half of 2026.
