Magtel has taken part in the Women’s Week in Industry, Energy and Mining in Andalusia, an initiative promoted by the Regional Government of Andalusia with more than one hundred professionals participating in events held across the eight provinces. The opening session, chaired by the Regional Minister for Industry, Energy and Mines, Jorge Paradela, highlighted the growth of industrial employment in 2025, the strategic weight of the sector in the progress of Andalusia’s GDP, and the need to accelerate the incorporation of female talent into fields that have traditionally been male-dominated.
In this context, Auxiliadora López Magdaleno —a member of the Board of Directors of the Magtel Group and President of Fundación Magtel— was invited to share her experience and her vision on how to build a more innovative, sustainable and inclusive industry. During her address, she emphasised the value of purpose-driven leadership and recalled that “there is no industrial progress without social progress”. She spoke about her origins in Posadas (Córdoba) and how this sense of belonging, together with Magtel’s consistent commitment to innovation, sustainability and Andalusian talent, has guided the company’s evolution from its beginnings in the telecommunications sector towards a multidisciplinary model spanning energy, infrastructure, digital transformation, railways and mining.
López Magdaleno also highlighted the role of female leadership as a true driver of change within organisations. From her executive position, she explained the measures implemented at Magtel to advance towards real equality, including the promotion of women in technical areas, the review of recruitment processes with a gender-equality perspective and the creation of professional development pathways. She stressed that fully integrating female talent brings new perspectives, collaborative capacity and a key approach to addressing emerging challenges.
She also underscored the social dimension of industrial development through the work of Fundación Magtel, which she has chaired since 2012, explaining how the organisation’s programmes in social and labour integration, international cooperation and social innovation help ensure that economic growth is accompanied by inclusion, training and community strengthening.
Women’s Week brought together professionals from different fields and combined presentations, panel discussions and outreach activities aimed at raising the visibility of role models, promoting equal opportunities and reducing the gender gap in the industrial, energy and mining sectors.
Alongside Magtel, the opening session also featured companies and leading women executives from the industrial, energy and mining sectors, including ITURRI, Ghenova, Cobre Las Cruces, H2B2, Grupo MIGASA, AMPCOR and Sandfire MATSA. Their representatives shared experiences that reflected the transformative potential of women’s talent at all levels of the industrial value chain.
