The pursuit of a more sustainable, flexible and secure energy model continues to drive the development of technologies capable of transforming the electricity system. Among these, reversible hydroelectric power plants are emerging as an essential tool for large-scale energy storage and for facilitating the efficient integration of renewable energy into the grid.
In this context, Magtel took part in INNOVAMIN’26, the technological forum held at the Higher Technical School of Mining and Energy Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, which brings together more than 170 experts, companies and institutions committed to innovation in the energy sector. During the event, Andrés Zapico Martín, Director of Reversible Hydroelectric Power Plant Projects at Magtel, presented the company’s experience in the design and permitting of this type of plant, as well as engineering solutions aimed at improving future energy management.
His presentation highlighted the importance of Reversible Hydroelectric Power Plants which, by providing inertia and synchronism, make it possible to integrate non-dispatchable renewable energies under safe conditions for the electricity system.
At Magtel, we would like to thank the organisers of INNOVAMIN’26 for inviting us to take part in this space for exchange and collaboration, which drives the advancement of knowledge and technological innovation in the energy field.
