Magtel at CEA Equality Board meeting with Equality, Social Policies, and Work-life Balance deputy secretary
Magtel attended a new meeting of the Equality Board of the Confederación de Empresarios Andaluces (CEA, Andalusian Business Confederation), which also featured guest speaker Francisco José Martínez López, deputy secretary of Equality, Social Policies, and Work-life Balance of the Junta de Andalucía (Andalusian regional government).
Mr Martínez presented the Junta’s course of action on equality and work-life balance before business delegates of the CEA Equality Board, among which was Magtel Equality Agent, Miriana Petróvic.
Magtel’s commitment to equality
Magtel remains strongly committed to establishing policies on equal treatment and opportunities for all people. It thus encourages measures for real equality and against discrimination of all kinds, above all gender-related ones.
This resulted in, among other measures, equality plans being drawn up by the organisation, the creation of the Standing Committee on Equality and the Equality Agent, or the use of the self-diagnostics tool on salary gender gap developed by the Spanish ministry of Presidency, Parliamentary Relations and Equality.
CEA Equality Board
The CEA Equality Board was set up in October 2018 as an advisory and discussion body. It is currently led by Ana Alonso, chair of the Federación Andaluza de Mujeres Empresarias (Andalusian Federation of Women Entrepreneurs).
It hast two main goals: relaying the importance businesses and business organisations play in gender equality to the CEA Board of Directors, Public Administrations, and society at large; and adopting an employers’ stance on real equality for men and women at the industrial, business, and financial levels through broad, constructive talks and joint efforts.
