Magtel successfully completes its participation in the “Preparadas” programme, which has trained more than 85,000 women in Andalusia in digital skills.

Magtel is successfully bringing its collaboration in the Preparadas programme to a close. This initiative is promoted by the Regional Ministry of Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment of the Government of Andalusia, through the Andalusian Agency for Telecommunications Development (Sandetel), and forms part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by Next Generation EU funds.

Thanks to this initiative, more than 85,000 women in Andalusia have gained access to digital training and new employment resources. Preparadas has become a key programme for improving women’s employability and reducing the digital divide in rural areas.

A landmark territorial rollout delivered by Magtel’s Digital Transformation Division

Magtel’s Digital Transformation Division played a key role in the technical and operational management of the programme, providing:

  • Support services for the territorial rollout, essential to delivering training in municipalities with fewer than 30,000 inhabitants and in vulnerable areas of larger municipalities across Andalusia.
  • Supervision of training quality and of the course accreditation process, ensuring full compliance with the requirements set by the public authorities.
  • On-site support, through continuous visits to address incidents and ensure that each training activity was carried out smoothly and in line with the established quality standards

Thanks to this work, Preparadas has reached 650 municipalities across Andalusia, including 59 vulnerable neighbourhoods and areas. In addition, more than 7,817 in-person courses have been delivered over the past two years, representing 110% of the originally planned target.

Measurable results: more than 85,000 women trained and real social impact

Official figures show that more than 85,000 women have benefited from this initiative, receiving both digital and professional training, particularly in rural areas with more limited access to technological resources. These results represent a significant step forward in reducing the digital divide and boosting female employment in Andalusia, especially among unemployed women or those affected by ERTE furlough schemes.

Each of these stories is a real example of personal and territorial transformation, demonstrating how access to digital training can expand future opportunities and strengthen the professional independence of thousands of women across Andalusia.

European recognition and consolidation of the model

The Preparadas programme has gained recognition beyond Spain. The project was selected as a finalist in the European Digital Skills Awards 2024, in the Digital Skills for the Digital World category. This distinction places Preparadas among the most relevant digital training initiatives in Europe and further reinforces the strategic commitment of the Government of Andalusia to improving the digital skills of its population.

Magtel, through its Digital Transformation Division, continues to play a key role, maintaining its commitment to social innovation, equal opportunities and the development of a more accessible digital ecosystem for all women in Andalusia.
