Asepeyo recognises Magtel’s good practice on occupational risk prevention (PRL)

The company stepped up PRL engagement across the board by linking IPAL to job-specific objectives

Magtel reached the final round of the 7th Asepeyo Best Prevention Practices Awards for implementing the IPAL system (PRL indicator) within its safety review framework. Mutual insurance company Asepeyo sponsors these awards in order to acknowledge exemplary measures aimed at preventing occupational risks amongst associate businesses and to promote PRL adoption, campaigns, and dissemination.

At an acceptance event held at the Diputación de Córdoba, Francisco Javier Gómez, Management Systems general manager (Joint Prevention System, HR Integrated Management and Strategic Planning System); Beatriz López, HR general manager; and Francisco Javier de la Cruz, head of the Joint Prevention System stressed the importance of adopting IPAL as a way to ensure improved outcomes in PRL compliance. This framework enables the company to individually act on each job looking into related risks and the relevant measures set up. Company representatives said: “Thanks to this indicator and to its links to our low accident goals framework, we got to engage all levels of our staff hierarchy in PRL.”

The Confederación de Empresarios de Andalucía (Andalusian Business Confederation) also welcomed Magtel‘s implementation of the IPAL system as best practice in occupational health and safety. In addition, the company received a second prize at the 3rd Escolástico Zaldívar Awards, granted by Fraternidad-Muprespa to businesses that stand out because of their PRL effort.

Zero occupational accidents rate

Magtel implemented a comprehensive management system that ensures employee safety via risk prevention and H&S measures. Strict compliance with these safety measures within in-house teams comes top in its business model. As a matter of fact, the PRL team identifies risks and sets up measures that help prevent potential incidents and deliver a zero occupational accidents rate. Magtel’s Joint Prevention System (SPM) executes a great deal of inspections and self-monitoring on projects and works using highly experienced PRL engineers.
