Since its inception, Magtel has been one of the leading players in the deployment of fiber optic networks in our country. It has participated in major projects involving both public infrastructure and the provision of services to households through FTTH networks. This leadership in the deployment and maintenance of urban and interurban fiber networks is exemplified by the installation of nearly 15,000 kilometers of networks for the major operators in the country and the connection of over one million households.

We have carried out this deployment thanks to the continuous improvement of our technological model, with a focus on constant innovation. Our growth has always been sustainable, and the continuous training of our professionals is essential for the greater effectiveness of our services.

It is our contribution to Spain’s role as one of the countries with the highest fiber optic deployment in the world, following the great effort made in recent years. In fact, as of January 2022, nearly thirteen million Spanish households had FTTH fiber optic lines, with a significant increase of 1.2 million in 2021. The forecast for 2026 sets the number at 16 million. This process is advancing at a rapid pace, positioning us at the top of the ranking of European countries in terms of broadband availability.

Throughout 2022

Throughout the year, Magtel has participated in significant deployments of FTTH-FTTN-FTTx networks, as well as in installation and maintenance services with major telecommunications operators covering the national territory. We have contributed our expertise with utmost versatility to meet the technological needs of our clients.

Furthermore, at Magtel, we have worked on railway signaling and communications projects for large-scale initiatives undertaken by ADIF, one of our long-standing clients. We have collaborated with other prestigious national and international technology companies in this field. Additionally, we have embraced the challenge of 5G in the railway environment, with new projects scheduled for development throughout 2023.

Market forecasts

In this context, reports estimate that by 2027, the number of fiber-connected households will reach 199 million in the European Union and 309 million across Europe, with France (31.1 million), the United Kingdom (30.1 million), and Germany (26.9 million) leading the rankings.

This forecasting exercise highlights the ongoing digital transformation of European countries, with FTTH playing a significant role in this digital inclusion. It is in this context that Magtel has set its next growth objective and positioning as a relevant player in other European countries.
