Maintenance and rehabilitation of EMACSA collectors

Maintenance and rehabilitation works have been carried out on collectors belonging to EMACSA’s sanitation network through the application of trenchless (no-dig) technologies—an approach that enables the renewal and upkeep of underground infrastructure while minimizing urban disruption and avoiding traditional civil works.

Thanks to this innovative method, the project was implemented with minimal impact on the urban environment, significantly reducing intervention times, environmental impact, and disruptions to mobility and commercial activity in sensitive areas of the city.

Main actions carried out:

  • Rehabilitation of strategic collectors beneath railway underpasses:
Work was performed on key collectors running beneath underpasses managed by ADIF, whose location and structural complexity made rehabilitation using conventional techniques unfeasible.
  • Network renewal in Córdoba’s historic city center:
Interventions were carried out in key streets within the city center, where narrow dimensions, heavy traffic, and the heritage value of the surroundings made any open-trench work particularly challenging. Trenchless technology allowed the sanitation network to be renewed without excavation, preserving the original configuration of the urban space.
