EMASESA awards Magtel two projects for the digitalization of the water cycle in its urban infraestructures

Magtel to carry out two projects for EMASESA to digitalize the water cycle in its urban infraestructures.

Magtel has been awarded two projects by the Metropolitan Company for Water Supply and Sanitation of Seville (EMASESA), involving interventions in both its water supply and sanitation networks.

The execution period for these initiatives, which will be carried out by Magtel’s Infraestructure Division, is 18 months. Both projects are part of the PERTE Digitalization of the Water Cycle, within the framework of Spain’s Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR).

Project 1: Water Quality and Network Monitoring

The first project involves the installation of water quality monitoring stations, flow meters, sectorization control in the supply networks, and limnimeters in EMASESA’s sanitation network. The project was awarded for €2.25 million, of which €1.1 million is funded through NextGenerationEU.

This project includes all necessary actions for service quality monitoring via water quality control points and the installation of additional measurement systems across EMASESA’s supply and sanitation networks. Work will include inspection, identification, and installation of these control points.

Execution will take place in two phases for each intervention point: first, inspection, identification, administrative procedures, and contracting; second, the execution of civil works, installation of required systems, and commissioning. Electricity connections will also be installed as part of the works.

Project 2: Smart Discharge Information System (SIDI)

The second project, awarded for €1.57 million (of which €898,000 is subsidized by NextGenerationEU), involves the installation of a Smart Discharge Information System (SIDI) in EMASESA’s sanitation networks.

The objective is to implement a system for early warning and monitoring of industrial discharges. This will be achieved through the sensorization of industrial discharges, the sanitation network, and the entry points at the wastewater treatment plant, using physicochemical measurement control points throughout EMASESA’s sanitation system.
