Fixed and mobile network deployment activities will take place in Andalusia, Extremadura, and the central region
Execution scheduled until 2022
Magtel will provide service to over 200,000 homes and assist in strengthening Orange’s mobile network in preparation for the 5G rollout. This is the goal of the new framework contract for fixed and mobile network deployments with the Spanish telecommunications company, which the Andalusian firm will execute until 2022.
The project will cover fixed network areas including FTTH, FTTN, MAN-LD, and mobile network areas including SSRR, infrastructure, energy, and air conditioning, to be developed in Andalusia, Extremadura, and the central region.
Specifically, the initiative is a turnkey contract encompassing permits, license management, engineering, civil works, installation, and commissioning.
Magtel’s collaboration with Orange through this activity dates back to 2014.
Recently, Magtel renewed its contract with the French-origin firm, Orange, for Installation and Maintenance (I+M) of the external plant until the end of 2023.
The contract includes installation activities (FTTH, ADSL, CTO expansions, etc.) and customer premises maintenance, in addition to external plant network maintenance. The company’s operational area covers Eastern Andalusia, Melilla, and the central region.
Magtel has collaborated with Orange in this activity since 2014. As noted by Antonio Torres, Director of the Installations Division: “During the three-year duration of the contract, approximately 300,000 customer premises operations will be carried out, as well as maintenance of the external plant network serving over one million homes.”
Leading operators
With both contracts, Magtel reaffirms itself as a key player in the telecommunications sector, developing comprehensive turnkey projects for the country’s major operators, while also providing services in other areas such as energy, renewables, construction, and railway installations.
