On Thursday, July 10, the inauguration of the “Cartago” photovoltaic complex took place in Carmona (Seville). This is the largest renewable energy generation cluster developed by Bruc in Andalusia, with Magtel participating as the project developer.
The complex comprises 18 photovoltaic power generation plants with a total capacity of 957 MW across 1,610 hectares. In addition, it includes the largest private transmission grid connection in Andalusia. The Cartago cluster accounts for 70% of Bruc’s installed capacity in the region, representing an investment of more than €800 million.
This infrastructure will contribute to Andalusia’s and Spain’s energy independence, providing the equivalent of more than 10% of the electricity consumption of Andalusian households—over 470,000 homes.
The project reaffirms both companies’ commitment to the development of renewable energies, implementing environmental measures and involving local and Andalusian companies in the construction and engineering phases to strengthen the value chain of this type of initiative.
The complex will also generate immediate positive impact by creating employment opportunities in the municipalities where it is located, as well as attracting new industrial investment to the area.
Through its role as project developer, Magtel reinforces its commitment to renewable energy and the energy transition.
