La Barca Reversible Hydroelectric Power Plant (Asturias)
The La Barca Reversible Hydroelectric Power Plant (CHR La Barca) is a key facility for the energy transition as it helps integrate non-manageable renewable energies under safe conditions for the electrical system, providing inertia and synchronization in system operation.
This power plant, with a capacity of 300 MW, will generate 571 GWh/year of energy, enough to supply 176,200 homes throughout the year (38.8% of Asturian households).
