The Hotel Corbella hosts El Día de Córdoba breakfasts with Isidro López Magdaleno as the featured guest

Last Friday, September 26, a breakfast event organized by El Día de Córdoba was held at the Hotel Corbella (Posadas) to celebrate the newspaper’s 25th anniversary as the daily publication for Córdoba and its province. The event featured Isidro López Magdaleno, Vice President of Magtel, as the main guest.

Moderated by El Día de Córdoba’s director, Raquel Montenegro, López Magdaleno reflected on his professional career, his role within the company, and discussed key topics such as the industrial and energy needs of the province of Córdoba.

Regarding Magtel, López Magdaleno highlighted his over 30 years of experience applying innovative solutions to the design, construction, and maintenance of projects in the energy, engineering, telecommunications, digital transformation, and infrastructure sectors. Magtel currently operates across multiple divisions, employing more than 800 people directly and generating over 1,330 indirect jobs.

López Magdaleno has also recently diversified into the tourism sector, a key area for the province’s economy. He has restored a traditional cortijo to create the five-star Hotel Corbella in Posadas, a privileged location due to its rural surroundings and proximity to Córdoba city.

On Córdoba’s Industrial Land

During the breakfast discussion, López Magdaleno addressed the economic situation of Córdoba, which anticipates the construction of the Army Logistics Base, expected to be operational by 2028 and to serve as a major economic boost for the province.

According to him, “Since I took on the presidency of the Industry and Energy Commission of the Confederation of Business Owners of Córdoba (CECO), we have been calling for more industrial land across the province. We need it because many companies could expand their facilities—and therefore their activities—if industrial land were available.”

López Magdaleno also pointed out the lack of energy capacity as one of Córdoba’s main challenges. He emphasized the importance of building new electrical substations to allow greater energy input, leveraging the large number of sunny days in Andalusia.

He concluded his remarks alongside CECO President Antonio Díaz, who praised the projects led and executed by the Córdoba-born entrepreneur, recognizing his ongoing contribution to the development of multiple sectors in the province of Córdoba.
