The joint venture formed by CAF and  <a href=\"https:\/\/magtel.es\/en\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/magtel.es\/en\/\">Magtel<\/a> has been awarded the contract for the drafting of the construction project and the execution of works to refurbish the safety installations on Line 400, on the section between Espeluy and C\u00f3rdoba. The works, to be carried out along a 97\u2011kilometre stretch, will enable a comprehensive upgrade of the signalling and control systems, with the aim of increasing the safety, reliability and availability of the infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Works at stations and safety systems<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The new interlockings will be installed at the stations of Campus Universitario de Rabanales, Alcolea de C\u00f3rdoba, Los Cansinos, Villafranca de C\u00f3rdoba, El Carpio de C\u00f3rdoba, Pedro Abad, Montoro, Villa del R\u00edo, Los Siles, Marmolejo, Arjonilla, And\u00fajar, Villanueva de la Reina, Espeluy, Espeluy Triangle, Meng\u00edbar\u2013Artichuela and Ja\u00e9n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Railway signalling, detection and control<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The project also includes the construction of dedicated technical buildings to house the signalling equipment, as well as the installation of a range of key systems for railway operations, including  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seguridadferroviaria.es\/recursos_aesf\/6D28997B-4BE1-4EEC-BF21-A74DF73AB4F1\/144053\/037ET033650037.pdf\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.seguridadferroviaria.es\/recursos_aesf\/6D28997B-4BE1-4EEC-BF21-A74DF73AB4F1\/144053\/037ET033650037.pdf\">ASFA Digital<\/a>, LED signals, electromechanical point machines and new train detection systems. In this context, stations are expected to use axle counters, while the line will be equipped with audio\u2011frequency track circuits, with the exception of the Ja\u00e9n\u2013Espeluy section, where train detection will be carried out entirely using axle counters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Communications, video surveillance and fibre optic networks<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the installation of communications and telephony systems, video surveillance and access control is envisaged, together with the deployment of new main and secondary fibre optic cabling, including all splices and connections.
