HYIELD is a pioneering European initiative focused on the sustainable production of green hydrogen from waste gasification. The meeting brought together the various consortium partners to review the project\u2019s technical and strategic progress, as well as the next milestones in its development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the session, key topics were addressed, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Progress in the implementation of the demonstration plant<\/strong>, which will be built at industrial scale in a cement plant in Spain, following an innovative multi\u2011stage gasification and syngas purification concept. The facility will operate at 3 MW, investigate more than 10 types of organic waste and produce around 180 tonnes of hydrogen, reaching a purity of 99.97% and an estimated energy efficiency between 62% and 74%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Development of the AI\u2011based Digital Twin<\/strong>, designed to optimise plant performance through advanced simulations, operational cost estimation and production forecasting under different configurations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Advancements in the waste\u2011to\u2011hydrogen methodology<\/strong>, integrating technologies such as CleanTech gasification and advanced separation systems to transform biogenic waste streams into high\u2011purity green hydrogen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>TRL5\u20116 testing and basic engineering work<\/strong>, essential for preparing the industrial demonstration phase and ensuring the replicability of the model across other sectors such as steel, copper and cement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The HYIELD project aims not only to produce green hydrogen from waste, but also to deliver a more efficient and competitive pathway than current electrolysis\u2011based technologies. It is expected that industrial\u2011scale hydrogen costs could be significantly reduced to <strong>\u20ac2.19\/kg<\/strong>, well below conventional solutions. Furthermore, the project addresses a key European challenge: the more than 300 million tonnes of waste generated each year, whose potential could enable the production of over 30 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>An international consortium coordinated by Magtel<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The HYIELD consortium is made up of 15 entities from Spain, France, Germany, Norway, Luxembourg and Switzerland, including research centres, technology companies, industrial firms and waste management organisations. Magtel acts as the project coordinator, strengthening its strategic role in the field of energy innovation at European level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participating partners include organisations such as WtEnergy Advanced Solutions, H2SITE, CEMEX Espa\u00f1a, VEOLIA, ENAG\u00c1S, CETAQUA, CSIC, MINCATEC Energy, SINTEF, ArcelorMittal Bremen and Synhelion, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Commitment to the energy transition<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At Magtel, we are grateful for the participation of all partners and reaffirm our commitment to clean technologies, the circular economy and the energy transition.
