Attending on behalf of our company were Vice President <strong>Juan Luis L\u00f3pez Magdaleno<\/strong> and the Director of Hydraulics and Environment, <strong>Arturo Buenaventura<\/strong>. Also joining the panel were <strong>Antonio Bejarano<\/strong>, Mayor of Espiel; <strong>Paqui Vicente<\/strong>, Manager of the Guadiato Valley Rural Development Group; and <strong>Agust\u00edn L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, Delegate for Economy of the Andalusian Government in C\u00f3rdoba. The discussion was moderated by <strong>Raquel Montenegro<\/strong>, Director of <em>El D\u00eda de C\u00f3rdoba<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All participants agreed on Guadiato\u2019s potential to develop projects not only in the industrial sphere, but also in agriculture and environmental initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the region\u2019s flagship projects is the <strong>Ballesta reversible hydropower plant<\/strong> being developed by our company. Located in the municipality of Espiel, it makes use of a disused mining pit and offers an energy storage capacity of <strong>2,554 MWh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Magtel\u2019s Vice President, <strong>Juan Luis L\u00f3pez Magdaleno<\/strong>, stressed the importance of this reversible hydropower plant, which allows surplus energy that would otherwise be lost to be stored and used when needed. The project also includes a training program and a grants scheme for local businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Arturo Buenaventura<\/strong>, Director of Hydraulics and Environment, provided further details about the initiative. Its construction would create up to <strong>500 jobs in the region<\/strong> with an investment of <strong>403 million euros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This facility is part of a large-scale energy storage project that Magtel is also developing in Asturias. Known as <em>\u201cBlue Storage,\u201d<\/em> it foresees a reversible hydropower capacity of around <strong>5 GW<\/strong> distributed across some twenty plants\u2014nearly a quarter of the storage capacity set as a target in Spain\u2019s National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All participants concluded by emphasizing the urgent need for the northern area of C\u00f3rdoba
